Artists Against

“Artists Against” was born from the growing crisis of bullying and cyber bullying in our society, especially amongst high school students. Recent events, such as the tragedy of Amanda Todd taking her own life due to bullying, are a stark reminder of a very real problem young people worldwide face every day.

In support of Bullying Awareness Week 2012, some of Canada’s top music stars united with Kids Help Phone, under the banner “Artists Against”, to help raise awareness of the bullying epidemic. Pierre Bouvier of Simple Plan, Hedley’s Jacob Hoggard, Lights, Kardinal Offishall, Fefe Dobson, Alyssa Reid, Walk Off The Earth, and Autotune The News, joined forces to record the classic Cyndi Lauper song True Colors.  All net proceeds from the sale of the the Wax Records single release are donated to Kids Help Phone. While the artists were in the studio they also put together a behind the scenes video for the song, and a PSA for Bullying Awareness.
